Consider Well Your Steps
As Christians, one of the most amazing things we have available to us is the Holy Spirit Himself. The Bible tells us that it is the job of the Holy Spirit to help guide us and teach us as we journey through this life.
There are many different ways that the Holy Spirit will use to help guide us in this life. And one of the ways is off of two verses I will now give you.
Sometimes all you have to do is carefully examine all of the pieces you already have on your chessboard to see if God wants you to move in a certain direction or not. There is a very catchy phrase in the first verse I will give you below. This catchy little phrase is to consider well your steps.
What this means is to stop and carefully analyze and examine what your options are, along with what the consequences to your actions will be. Sometimes just using good, logical, plain common sense will tell you exactly what God will want you to do in a certain situation.
The 2nd verse I will give you will add one more thing to all of this – and that is to take your time when having to make a big decision on something. This verse will tell you that if you are too hasty in your decision making, that you could be led into poverty.
How many people over the years have ignored this good, basic, godly advice and made decisions much too quickly and later on found that they had made the wrong decision. For related article, see bible verses about strength.
Here are two great verses from our Bible giving us these true words of wisdom from the Lord:
1. “The simple believes every word, but the prudent man considers well his steps.” (Proverbs 14:15)
2. “The plans of the diligent lead surely to plenty, but those of everyone who is hasty, surely to poverty.” (Proverbs 21:5)
Remember, take your time when having to make a big decision on something. Carefully analyze what your options are going to be and what the consequences are going to be with each of these options.
Sometimes just looking at the consequences of each one of those options will tell you which direction God will want you to take. Also checkout here.
