The Long Awaited 6th and Final Book, The Land of Painted Caves by Jean M Auel is at it’s release date, 29th March 2011.

Over 25 Years ago I read a book called “The Clan of The Cave Bear”, the first in a series of 6 books of fiction based loosly on fact.

I was utterly Spellbound

Jean M Auel captures your imagination so vividly, I couldn’t put this book down, I had to know what happened to Ayla and Jondalar.

Over the next 23 Years, at various times I waited patiently for the Next Book to be release as it was explained at the begining that this would be a 6 book series and would be Jean M Auel’s Lifes work.

Each book was purchased on the day of Release by me and then subsequently read by My Wife and at least 4 of her friends. Each book is a true masterpiece in it’s own right and fully deserves the accolades that have been achieved by it. Jean M Auel is my favourite Writer if you couldn’t tell.

I cannot speak highly enough about this book, odds are if you are now reading my review and basic explanation of the story line then you KNOW how good this book is.You just have to read it.

It’s sold over 45 MILLION copies.

The Land of Painted Caves

The series of books is set in Prehistorhic Europe, following the life of a small child, Ayla. The book(s) explain her life as a child and the adversities that were faced. The series continues as the story of Ayla unfolds, into addolescence, her meetings with different cultures and belief systems.

Throughtout the book the true beauty of writing is only surpassed by the mesmerizing storyline.

Over 30 Years of research by Jean M Auel makes you truly understand how life was many thousands of years ago. The detail is amazing, the interactions between societies and the movement of people over the timeline is all carefully mixed in with a reading experience I have never experienced in ANY other Book.
